Baked Apples with Walnut Filling in an Air Fryer

Whipping up a batch of baked apples filled with walnuts is incredibly simple and quick with an air fryer. It only takes a few minutes to prepare the filling and core the apples, and before you know it, you’re setting them in the air fryer for a quick bake.

This air fryer method transforms a traditional treat into something that’s not only delicious and heartwarming but also budget-friendly and efficient.

For a delightful twist, we sprinkle a little cinnamon and powdered sugar on top. If your apples are particularly sweet, a dash of cinnamon alone does the trick. Usually, one large apple per person suffices, and they’re just as tasty served at room temperature.

I prefer grinding my own walnuts for a fresher flavor, but pre-ground walnuts work just as well.

Enjoy a simple, sublime dessert that’s sure to be a hit any day of the week!

  • Spoon the walnut mixture into the cored apples and place them in your air fryer basket or tray.
  • There’s no need to preheat the air fryer. Set it to 320°F (160°C) and bake the apples for 30 minutes. Since apples vary in type and size, check their softness with a needle at about 20-25 minutes, adjusting the time if necessary.
