Enjoy making Sweet Potato Rings in the air fryer with this super simple recipe that’s sure to please any sweet potato lover. Once you give it a try, it might just become a regular on your menu, like it did in our home.
These cook up incredibly fast—it’s so easy to slice the sweet potatoes into rings, toss them with oil and salt, pop them into the air fryer, and they’re ready in just about 13 minutes. No need to preheat the air fryer for this recipe either.
Freshly cooked in the air fryer, the sweet potato rings come out warm and while not particularly crispy all over, they develop a delightful caramelization here and there. They’re almost as delicious as frying them in a skillet.
They strike a perfect balance between sweet and savory. While they’re usually served as a side dish, they tend to disappear as soon as they’re ready.
It’s a quick, delicious, and simple meal, light and healthy when paired with a fresh mixed green salad. They also complement hamburger patties, grilled meats, or even duck breast quite nicely.
These sweet potato rings are gluten-free, dairy-free, and suitable for many dietary preferences, though if you care about sugar intake, you should eat them moderately.
4 Tips for Perfect Sweet Potato Rings in Air Fryer
- Cooking time depends on how many sweet potato rings are on the tray. If it’s just one potato sliced into rings (not overlapping), 10 minutes are sufficient. For 2-3 sweet potatoes, plan on about 13 minutes.
- Without any oil, sweet potato rings in the air fryer might brown unevenly and taste slightly bitter. It’s best to lightly coat them with oil before cooking, though they can also be cooked without it.
- If you prefer them less salty, their naturally sweet flavor can almost serve as a dessert.
- For an extra touch of flavor, grind fresh salt over them as soon as they’re done cooking. It adds a heavenly touch!
